Below is a lightly edited transcript.
Where are you working now?
After studying at university, I am now working at Angel Presence Foundation School. I have been here for nine years as finance manager and in administration.
How did you become involved with BBEF?
I started in the BBEF program when I was 13 years old. A pastoral worker in the local parish recommended me and I was approved by the BBEF team.
How has BBEF helped you?
My education pursuits would not have been possible without generous support from my supporters, Rosaleen and Brian. I am so grateful for having them. Because of BBEF, I have been able to achieve my goals in life and that is to finish my studies. They helped me to become a better person.
The letter-writing was a very valuable part of the program. It's not only about receiving money and just saying, "Thank you." Communicating with my second "Aussie" family helped me to express my feelings, stories of my life, updating school progress and activities and also to understand their emotions and thoughts. As a result, we developed a very close relationship.
What would you like to say to our supporters?
To all our supporters, the financial assistance means so much to those who are less fortunate and unable to send their children to school. Thank you for the support and love you've shared with us. You gave us hope, strength and determination to achieve our dreams.
Your generosity and support has inspired me to help others and give back to the community.
